![]() Are the StudioLink-Shortcuts of Designer and Photo stored within the Publisher-export-file? I am a little confused when it comes to the shortcuts-export/import and StudioLink: I have created a set of shortcuts in Designer, Photo and Publisher. ![]() Is it possible to import / export the studio presets as you can do this with the shortcuts? Also I wonder if the StudioLink at Publisher in Designer / Photo mode can use the saved studio presets for the separate apps, too? This shouldn't be possible, and I haven't figured out exactly when it happens (although pasting seems to be a prelude most of the time).I am looking for the place on the Mac where the presets of my studios (Publisher, Designer, Photo) are stored. Quite frequently you'll try something like applying a filter, only to find nothing happened. There are also widespread defects that revolve around selection. Why doesn't the eyedropper set the foreground or background color, as it does in any other piece of image-editing software? but the color in the eyedropper well isn't saved between uses, so it's utterly pointless. To do THAT, you have to click on the eyedropper. It simply populates the color well, but the foreground or background color isn't set to it. You don't use the eyedropper icon to select a color from the screen you have to drag the color well NEXT TO the eyedropper to the canvas. Then there are gaffes in simple things like the eyedropper tool. The iPad version of Affinity Photo is on sale for $9.99, down from its regular $19.99 price. Realistically, you should consider replacing any car wax product that is more than three years old – after that point you’ll see a deterioration in terms of protective qualities. However, it can lose its effectiveness over time, especially if not stored properly. You aren’t going to suddenly wake up to a bottle of expired, “rotten” wax that is no longer usable, and is dangerous to your car. No, car wax doesn’t really expire in the conventional sense of the term. Old, “expired” wax might be harder to use and apply correctly as well. However, what you might notice is that you have to wax your car more frequently (as the protective properties that guard your paint and provide other benefits like water beading and sheen start to weaken with age). It isn’t like the product suddenly becomes acidic once it gets to a certain age. Yes, it’s exceedingly unlikely that you’ll cause any damage or problems for your car when using old wax. Is It Safe To Use Old Car Wax On Your Car? However, we have personally used product over 10 years old with no ill-effects, other than it having a strange consistency and definitely not working so well. Some detailing enthusiasts suggest 2-3 years as the max, so we would be inclined to say that car wax realistically lasts about 3 years before it’s time to consider getting something new and improved. Realistically, our research indicates that you can expect anywhere from 3-5 years of “normal” service from car wax if stored correctly. This depends on what product you’re using, and how it is stored. The main issue is that given enough time, your car wax won’t be as effective at protecting the paint/finish of your car as it was when first purchased, and the durability of the wax when applied might deteriorate as well. Other times – depending on the product in question – it can be hard to tell that the wax has started to deteriorate with age. ![]() Sometimes it’s easy to see that the wax has started to deteriorate – you’ll notice separation within the liquid that is hard to remedy through shaking the bottle/container, or you might also notice an excessively lumpy consistency. However, the effectiveness and protective qualities of car wax DO decline over time. On the other hand, drinking a 10 year old glass of milk might cause more than some minor gastrointestinal issues! If you’ve got a 10 year old bottle of car wax in your garage, you aren’t going to harm your paint finish by using it. It doesn’t go bad to the point where it becomes dangerous or completely unusable. Long story short, car wax doesn’t really “go bad” in the way that milk left for too long goes off.

The only problem with this solution is that the diode gets very hot, so it is only good for lights that consume very little power.Bring the magic home this winter with battery Christmas lightsĬreate the ultimate cosy ambience this winter with our indoor Christmas lights. If I measure the voltage before the diode we have 5v, while if I measure it after the diode we see about 4.5v, so the diode correctly lowers the voltage, so we avoid burning out the lights. When I plug the usb charger into the socket, we see that the lights come on. Now I connect the negative of the usb to the negative battery contact (the one with the spirng that we identified earlier), and the positive to the input of the diode. I soldered the output of the diode to the positive of the battery holder. The diode has an input and an output, and the output is marked with the white line. In this case we will use a 1N4001, which has a voltage drop of 0.7v. However, one of my followers suggested an alternative solution, which is to use a diode. Here again we could connect the voltage regulator from before to the two battery contacts we identified earlier and set it to 4.5v. Now let's see how to transform to work with USB lights that run on 3 batteries. If we have a 2 battery light string the voltage will be 3 volts, while if we have a 3 battery light string the voltage will be 4,5 volts. With a small screwdriver, I turned the voltage regulator potentiometer until I saw the voltage needed by the light string on the display. I set the multimeter to measure the voltage, and connected the test leads to the two output wires. Now I connected the USB cable to the power supply, and plugged it in. Then I soldered two more wires to the output of the voltage regulator. I soldered the two red and black wires to the positive and negative input of the voltage regulator. To lower the voltage we can use a voltage regulator board like an LM2596, which costs about 1€. There is 5v on these wires, so we cannot connect them directly to the battery holder, because the lights need 3v. The white and green wires are for data and we can cut them, while the power is carried by black and red. To this cable I have cut off one end, leaving the one that connects to the power supply, which generally is an USB type A. ![]() To connect the lights to a USB power supply, such as that of a phone, we need an old USB cable. However always look which contacts are connected where to individuate the right ones, as their order may vary. The contacts are positioed like shown in most of the cases. Since we have 3 batteries in series, the multimeter will show 4,5v. In the case of a 3 battery light string, the two contacts connected to the lights are the top-left one and the bottom-right one. We do not need the two contacts at the bottom, because they are the ones that were used to connect the batteries in series. The one with the spring is the negative, and the flat one is the positive. In the case of a 2 battery light string thay are these two at the top, which are soldered to the circuit board. To connect a power supply to the lights we need to see which contacts in the battery holder are electrically connected to the lights. So if I measure the voltage with the multimeter we have a total of 3v. ![]() The batteries produce about 1.5v, and in the battery holder they are connected in series. Later we will also look at one with 3 batteries. ![]() Let's start with a light string that works with 2 batteries. Generally 2 or 3 batteries should be put in the battery holder. Battery-powered lights are pretty much all made the same way: they have a little box where there is space for the batteries and a circuit with the switch, and from this little box the wire with the lights starts. ![]() ![]() The resistors we use here are 100 ohms (Brown Black Brown rings). This results in an LED that has 4 pins, one for each LED, and one common cathode or one common anode. It has 3 cathodes (+ pins) that can take different amperages.
